I am trying to work with photoshop 7 but not getting far as I can't see or find the small layer window which shows which layer I am working on.
I have tried help and searched this forum without success - it will probably be because I don't know the right terminology for the layer window thingy.
Can someone understand what I'm trying to say and help me please.

Hi, You are looking for the layers pallette. Go to "window" ( at the top of your screen) and click on "layers", or just press the F7 key.
