Hey, I just found this site earlier today. I am working on turning my friend into a terminator style robot using a sample image of Arnold in T3. This is my second attempt at doing this, as my first one came out much worse than what I have now.

In my first attempt I tried to just copy and paste all of the machine parts, but it did not come out right. This time, I used the lasso, quick mask and pen to extract each separate part, and recreated them on her face to match her expression. It looks good, but my only problem is that I need to blend the machine parts with her flesh. Arnold's skin tone in the image is very different from hers, so I will need to create new burn wounds where Arnold has his for a realistic effect. However, my problem is that I cannot find a tutorial for purpose, as all Google's results are for using the burn tool, not to create a burn wound.

I am pretty confident with my skills in PS (I used CS3). I have an understanding of the different tools, and how they are used. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it!

thats some advanced stuff with alot of steps to get it to look great

first off add a layer mask and lower the opacity of the brush you want to use and blend the edges with it
add some drop shadows and get some brushes to go over some other features

The shapes seem to match pretty much ok, so that step is done.
Then, work on the wounds to blend them in:

1. Edges.
Change the blendmode of each wound-layer and see how it works, only look at the edges not the center of each wound. You will have to isolate the edge part that you want to blend in, with layer masks.
Use soft brush in the layer mask to make the blend smooth.

2. Centers.
Put the centers on top of each layer stack, in normal blend mode, use a smooth soft brush on the layer mask to blend it in, finally use colorize/gradient map and/or curves command to fine tune the color.

I suppose thisq should get you going. Use the PS help function to find the commands if your not familliar with them.
