I first posted this question on the 4th Nov. I thought it would have been relitivly simple for PS users..Lets try again ??
I am currantly a PSP user moving to Photoshop, I have photoshop CS3 and one of the functions I used quite a bit as my clients sent me images for their web site was to drag them from the email on to PSP work table and the image would open.
I tried the same with photoshp and the image would not open ?
Is there a setting I am missing ? Can photoshop do it.
someone please answer. |

I never thought of dragging an image from outlook to PS.
I tried a few different things and none worked, just as you said.
Why drag from your email though? Why not just save it to a folder, once your done delete it? Your email attachments are already stored in a temporary folder so dragging to PSP isn't really saving you space on your hard drive, just a neat feature. Here's an example of the temp folder deal.
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\PUKNJ8XP
Sorry you didn't get a response on your initial posting. _________________ www.flickr.com/rohape |

Thanks for responding. not the response I was hoping for, its odd that such a usefull feature is missing in photoshop.
The path you gave did not show any images.
my client sends me many emails with 9 or ten product items. when the emait arrives I click on it and it opens and shows the .jpg's or gif,s in the attachment bar, it also gives the sizes I can just select the first and last and drag to the PaintShop pro work table and all the images open I can then work on them and save or delete . its very quick.
Is there anyone that can give me a yes or no if this can be done in photoshop because thats the only thing stopping me changing over. |

The file path I sent was for my images on my computer, I was just giving it as an example. You can find yours with these simple steps. If your interested.
Open the email with the photo.
Right click on the photo and select open
It should open in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
Right click on the photo and select Properties
You will see towards the top Location: Just highlight and drag. TaDa, theres your temp storage area for Outlook.
I understand the convenience of the email feature, but it sure would be a shame that it would discourage you from using an amazing program.
I have no answer, yes or no, for you though. I'll keep my eye out though.
Good Luck! _________________ www.flickr.com/rohape |
