I'm a new user of PhotoShop (v6.0.1) and I'm trying to add a photo (.gif) to a header (.psd) I've started & will use in WordPress.

I cannot seem to click & drag the logo to the header. It does not come out of the window or space that it is in. I think this can be done because I have seen it done in a tutorial video. I see the logo layer has a lock on it, is that possible the problem? I cannot seem to figure out how to unlock it.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

rather than dragging and dropping the .gif ... copy and paste it into the .psd ... that should work.

if you still have problems, perhaps you could pass along the files to one of us and maybe we can figure out the problem.

I tried what you suggested but, I see no way to copy & paste. When I go to the Edit menu I see copy but it is greyed out.

can you send me the images and let me try?

or you can try

.gif image ..... ctrl + A (select all)
..... ctrl + C (copy)

.psd image ..... ctrl + V (paste)

(I only mention these because I am not sure if you were aware of shortcuts?)

Duh, I didn't think of using the keyboard shortcuts, I was looking in the Menu bar.

Thanks, that worked. Now I need to figure out how to remove the white space in the logo.

go to the logo layer using your magic wand with anti-alias checked and contiguous NOT checked.

click on the white and delete

let me know if there is anything that doesn't work right
