I was trying to add noise on a new layer, but could not complete because it said the selected area was empty. I added a new layer above the picture and i want to add noise in the new one. How do i do that? Please help...............please i am completely new to the ps.

right click the layer you want the noise added to, then click duplicate layer...Highlight the new layer, now add your noise
