|
|
I converted a picture the other day from full color to the image below. I now can't remember how I did this! I need to do some others. As you can see I am very new to this. Also, when I go into my filters, certain ones when applied turn the picture completely black while others work fine. I think that one of the filters I used to make this picture now doens't work, as the other day all the fitlers worked. HELP!

Desaturate color, then go to filter, then artistic then down to poster edges.

That wasn't quite it. Close, but it didn't quite have the same effect...

One thing you can check, if you're not seeing filters that you expect to see, is that you are not working in one of the indexed color modes. It may be that when you converted the sample image, you saved it as grayscale, and therefore the filters which don't work with indexed color (grayscale, which is only 256 levels, is treated as indexed color) will be grayed out and unavailable.
To check, go to Image|Image Mode and, if the mode is grayscale, change it to RGB (it'll remain a grayscale image in appearance). All of your filters should then become available.

It is still in RGB. The filters aren't 'not available', they are there and I can click on them but when I do, they turn the image black...

Try doing what I said...and then tweak the levels...that may be it

Oh, OK. I misunderstood this line
"I think that one of the filters I used to make this picture now doens't work, as the other day all the fitlers worked."
to mean that you couldn't access it anymore.
