I just purchased Photoshop Elements 7, hoping for a simpler piece of software. I find however that...
1. It comes with no manual so I'm no better off than with the company installed Photoshop 7 software from several years ago.
2. When I go to save a photo I have no option to save as a jpeg/jpg file.
When I try the Help tab, I eventually find that PSE 7 does supposedly save in jpeg/jpg format. If it does where the heck is that option in my save/save as menu? |

Hhhhmmmmmm, I think I have it figured out. If I load a GIF, I don't have the option to save it as jpg. Don't know why that is, but when I load any other file type then I have the jpeg/jpg option. |

Well, wrong again. I find that there is no option to "save as" jpeg/jpg in most of the file types that I load.
Seriously, is there something that I am missing here in PhotoShop Elements 7 ?? |

If you are not able to save as jpg, you are working with an image in indexed color mode, such as gif or greyscale. Go to Image|Image Mode and change the mode to RGB and you will have the option to save as jpg.

Thank you, I'll make that change and try a few file types. |
