OK
So I have the image extracted from the original photo and now I want to place it in a new background, but I cant seem how to figure out how. I have used the magic wand tool and selected all then cut and paste, then remove the white area to reveal the new background, but then I'm not able to position the photo where i want it in the new background. I have done a search on youtube and a google search, and have alot of info, but not what I'm looking for. I'm using elements 7. Anybody have a good link for me to watch or a good explanaiton. BTW I am a total newbie to photoshop, this is only my second day having the software.

Thanks
Bob

It's a little hard to determine exactly where you are in the process, but have you tried using the Move tool? That's the icon above the Magic Wand tool in the standard two-column toolbox. Looks like a crosshair with an arrow. First, activate the layer you want to move around by clicking it in the Layers palette. Then go over and click the Move tool. Your cursor will change to look like the Move tool icon, and you can then use it to push that layer around as much as you want to.
