Hi guys, sorry to be impolite and ask an annoying question nooby as my first post, but i was hoping that someone would be able to give me a clue as to how to solve my problem.
Basically, im a design student and i've knocked up a pic in photoshop 7.0 and by takin the followin steps:
1) Import scanned JPG, trace over lines, make colour mask, then just fill in appropriate colours.
Now my next step would be to use hue/saturation to make all the shadows and shading etc, but the hue saturation option is grayed out on the menu. See screenshot below:
So any ideas as to how this can be fixed would really help me out. Ive not messed about with any of the settings or anything so i dont think its that, and when i made a new pic it went back to normal - i even tried copying the lines but not the colours into another file so i could re-do all the colour but hue/saturation was still gray.
Just guessin' here, since I can't see your interface, other than the screen shot you posted, but just off hand I'd say that your image is in grayscale mode. Notice in your screen shot that not only the hue/saturation is grayed out, but all of the color adjustments? That sure smacks of gray scale, which has only 256 shades, from solid black to solid white.
So, go under the Image menu and choose Image Mode and change the mode to RGB. It'll still have the same apparent colors, but now you'll be able to add color, use the hue/sat adjustment, etc.
