Okay,

I'm having a huge issue in designing my up and coming website.
I've numerous layers within my soon to be designed page - however, a few of these layers are set to different blend modes (Overlay, Screen and Lighten).
I need to ensure that these layers remain looking the way they do on my page when they're part of my flattened site, but it's just not working for me. When I flatten all layers, it looks as I want it - however I can't do that, as I will ultimately be using a tiled background layer, and the background layer I'm using now is only as a guide.

So to summarize, does anyone have any idea how I can merge down a ('Screen', for example) layer, without it losing its screen look? Help! :)

Hi lolamala,
I'd suggest "stamping", that is merging all visible layers into new one:
- In the Layers palette, hide unnecessary layers
- Press [Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E] (on Mac, [Shift+Cmnd+Opt+E])

Regards.

Hi Andrei -

I've tried the stamping suggestion, but it basically takes away the blend mode.

Here's the problem :

Top layer is a clouds image, set to overlay blend mode.
Middle layer is empty, set to normal blend mode.
Bottom layer is a grid picture from a school book, set to normal blend mode.

When i merge down the clouds layer to the middle layer, it darkens the clouds - I basically want to keep the clouds looking see-through and airy. The reason I don't just flatten all layers, is that the bottom grid layer is a reference layer for me - my final web page will have the same background, but tiled. Hope that makes sense! So if I can somehow keep that clouds layer looking like it does in its overlay state, I'll be thrilled. Here are the before and afters :
