From the press release:

Quote:
Sharp, a worldwide leader in flat-panel Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology, announces the September U.S. availability of the world’s largest commercially available LCD Monitor. Model LB-1085, a 108-inch class (107.5 inches Diagonal, 52.9-inches high by 93.9-inches wide) Full HD 1080p LCD Monitor, features an Advanced Super View LCD panel that is manufactured at Sharp’s Kameyama Plant No. 2, the first plant in the world to use 8th generation glass substrates. With this development, Sharp has demonstrated that it is now possible to produce LCDs in all screen size classes ranging from 19-inch class (18-61/64” Diagonal) to super-large sizes.

Wow.

Via Engadget, who says that it looks to cost around $100,000, judging from the pricing in Japan.

Well, when you can afford that, I know you can afford to fly me over there for a day of TV watching. So, I'll look forward to that. ;)

The good news is I can afford one, the bad news is I'm gonna have to sell the house to get it!

TV? House? It's a close call hehe!

Looks like it's going to be a little more expensive. Big Grin

From TG Daily:

Quote:
Retailers have begun selling (link to German website) Sharp’s LB-1085 108” LCD TV in Europe with prices starting at about 120,000 Euro – about $185,000 at the current exchange rate. Expect this TV to be a very special order, as you cannot simply pick it up (which will be quite difficult considering the TV’s weight of 430 pounds), but will have to wait 16 weeks until the device will be delivered.
