OK I am a total newbie to photoshop, I have tinkered and closed mostly as I just dont understand what most of the tools do
I would appreciate if someone could help me by explaining the tools to me please.
I have just tried following a tutorial that required use of the pen tool and I couldnt even find it in my pse4
I feel such a fool asking this most simple of questions but hey if you dont ask you will never learn... right?? |

hey! im also a noob at photoshop haha.. but im slowly starting to learn hwo to sue tools by google searching what they do and how to use them..
so my advice would be to just Google: Photoshop (version) tools
if that doesnt work then make your search more specific _________________ >img resizemod="on" onload="rmw_img_loaded(this)" src="http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb178/shard101/nfsu2010w.jpg">

Hi tee, just wanted to let you know that PS elements does NOT have the pen tool. You have to have the normal versions of PS in order to use it (aka PS 7, CS, CS2, CS3).
As for the other tools, play around! Take an image, take a tool and see what happens

Thanks Lurker, that would explain why I couldnt find it LOL
As for playing around thats what I have been doing for over a year now and to be honest I am no further forward than the day I got it. Trouble is I am so used to paintshop pro and some things I try to do in either PS7 or PSE4 just dont do what I expect them to do, however I will continue to tinker and see what happens |

Hey Tee,
I've never used elements before so I'm unsure of what tools it has. I would recommend just running through the tool bar, hovering your mouse over each tool and finding out what each one is called. Then excluding all the self-explanatory tools (like ruler and poke-you-in-the-eye tool), I would google them.
I'm sure there are tons of tutorials for each tool that at least give you a basic feel for it.
Let us know what tools are puzzling you and hopefully we can explain them if you're stuck.
