Frankly, I can't remember reading any tutorials on dealing with noise in Photoshop. Scott Kelby dedicates a whole paragraph in his CS3 book for digital photographers.
I need to make a decision on what noise reduction plugin to buy, so if you can reply to thread I can get a consensus of what is being used most.

Hey Snapshooter,
I've only ever used Photoshop's own noise reduction filters - median, dust and scratches, reduce noise, gaussian blur etc. These combined with masks can prove very effective. I also like the noise reduction facilities inside Adobe Camera Raw, maybe I'm just easily pleased though lol.
Hope this helps _________________ Matt

I find that Photoshop's noise filter is way too resource intensive.
I would recommend NoiseNinja to everyone in the industry (http://www.picturecode.com/).
A pro is that they supply noise profiles for most mid/high-end digital cameras at their site.
And if you're really ambitious, you can create your own custom profiles with their software instructions. _________________ LB |
