Hey i've spent some time working with photoshop, i'm mostly using it for illustration and not photo manipulation

I was wondering about a feature that would be very helpful if it was there, but i can't find anything about it. I was wondering if there was a keyboard shortcut that allowed you to incrementally blend foreground and background colors.

I know photoshop could handle it, the gradients work great, but if there was a way to mix the backgorund color into the forground color one step at a time... that would be extremely useful...

just curious, if there's any other useful techniques for handling degrees of color, it'd be appreciated!!
