I have a desk image that i want to use on a website. but it's just a plain square. I need some help adding alittle more to the edges to make it look smoother and not so plain. can you help me out or give me some good tips for this.

Hi cybershot,
I'd be inclined to add a little perspective to it first. Go to edit> transform> perspective and use the top right transformation handle to find the prespective that you need.
Next, you can create an edge using a bevel & emboss layer style, here I just played around with the angle and size until I got something I liked.
There's a lot of ways to do this kind of work in Photoshop, but sometimes you can't beat good old layer styles!
Hope this helps

well now that is a fantastic idea. I do not know why i didn't think of the perspective idea. that would make it alot easier to do other things that i want to do. I will give it a try and see what i can come up with
