Nah.....my flatmate makes concept art for computer games and he can knock up stuff like that in Photoshop in less than a day.
All you have to do is think about how you create the forms. Don't think that's a leg or an arm ....think that's an oval shape in front of another shape etc. Then think about the direction of the light. It's all about the highlights and shadows. You can create some 'real' looking stuff with those principles.
Just practice a lot and you'll get it.
