"Could not complete your request because of program error" is the message I now get when trying to open Photoshop files, or create a new one. This happened suddenly. InDesign and Illustrator are fine. I manually uninstalled CS2 and then installed. Same error message. I went to preferences-file handling and uncheck the Version Que message (I read that this helped someone, but they were using windows pc) I'm using a Mac. My operating system is 10.4.11. Any suggestions? I also tried clearing out the preferences. Hope there is help for me!

Forgot to say that this is on my Powerbook G4. I run the same software on my G5 and have had no problem. Hope this might help someone who has an answer.

If it's only on one file, I would say that the file just may be corrupt. If it's on all files it's probably a Photoshop issue.
Check your scratch disk prefs and make sure there is enough memory (3-5 times the file size) and that your scratch disk is not also your system drive (C:\ most likely).
Also, try the "Open As" command.
If it's not a registered version of Photoshop, this would most likely be the issue (I'm not accusing you of anything)
Hope this helps!

Hi,
this used to happen to me, have u tried closing and opening the programme? that works sometimes but its more than likely if you have more than one programme open that uses a lot of memory, lots of stuff going on in photoshop or if your computer doesnt have a lot of memory, mines got 1gb but it sometimes happens and photoahop can get veryy slow if i have a lot going on so i am getting more mb soon.

hope that helps Big Grin

Are you using Leopard (I don't know much about Macs)? If so, I don't think Photoshop CS2 is Leopard-friendly/compatible. Check this board, it might explain:
