Plug-ins from third-party developers provide customers with the ability to add even more capabilities to their Adobe® Photoshop® software and, in some cases, can make certain tasks easier and faster.
If you go here http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/photoshop/ you can see all the plugins that are available. It is a very large amount and they allow you to have pre-made setups to do certain things like animation, modeling, infrastructure, etc. It can save you a lot of time and headache.
