Image size problems when importing a .pdf

I am having trouble when importing pdf's when specifying Page options and image size. For example. If importing a landscape 11x17 pdf and specifing height to 11 and width to 17, my result becomes something else, but, is proportional. I am printing a pdf from AutoCAD and importing to photoshop, if that helps at all. Thanks
