Good afternoon,
Im the new girl.

The one with the glasses and lank hair, sitting at the back with no mates!

Can anyone help, please.
Ive used PS for years, with no probs.
Now have CS3, and cant get the selection to snap to guides!

When using the MARQUEE it positions the selection 2 pixels up and 1 pixel to the left of the guide (on the outside).

The guides will snap to the selection, however.

Sometimes when GUIDES are LOCKED the selection will snap to a guide, but not always.

Also, in the old days the curser would turn red when on a guide when lined up corrctly. This doesn't seem to happen now.

And in the mists of time do I remember correctly that there was a setting in which you could choose the snap distance?

Am i doing something wrong?
Can't find anything anywhere about related problem.

Am i being a total muppet?

Please someone, help, this is driving me mad.

Thanks for looking...x

Hi there
You sound like quite an experienced user so it may be that a re-install is on the cards!
I think the magenta lines you are referring to when things line up are the smart guides.
Hope this helps
