Good Morning...I am new here ...first timer. I just bought a new laptop computer....I had Adobe Photoshop CS2 installed on my desktop computer...have not used it much at all. So, just yesterday I did the "Transfer Activation "thing". I did as instructed...Installed it on my laptop...(this new laptop is an HP Pavilion with 2GB, Intel Centrino, Light Scribe, and Windows Vista).

When I was through installing it (it said I installed successfully)....then I was told to register it... ...I did so...using my new address (of the laptop)...It told me It registered successfully.

I then proceeded to download updates....when all was said and done, and rebooted...said the updates were installed successfully as were the registration, and updates.

So, I closed it out.....opened PSCS2 to work on a picture ,and it said..... before I could do anything....... I had to register it...so, I did this again.

closed it out....opened it again ...same thing said I had to register it. This went on for 5 different times...So, I got to thinking...maybe I should use my other address that I had the PSCS2 on in the first place....by evening I was almost blind...so I closed everything down.

This morning I opened both computers...I got a "congratulations" for registering...on the desktop computer...(the one with the beginning address)

I opened PSCS2 on the laptop...same thing as yesterday...I must register Mad

I clicked on ....(don't remember the exact wording), but declined to register it and it opened for me and I could pull a picture in to work with.

What is the problem?...what do I need to do? I am afraid if everytime I open it and decline to register, I won't receive updates.

So, I am sitting here in Limbo with a $600.00 software. Bawling

Please help...please Confused

Thanks.

Hi
If this is legit software then give Adobe Tech Support a call and they'll help you! Activation and registering are two different things, if you don't activate the software will stop functioning within a predefined time scale (usually something like 30 days). If you don't register it doesn't effect the functionality of the software or the availablility and installation of updates - it just means that Adobe doesn' know who you are.

You said something about addresses, I'd try registering the original address and then changing it from your account once you're registered.

Hi Matt, and thank you for the reply...Yes, This is a legit software that I paid $600.00 for at Office Max...brand new, when it first came out......still sealed in the original box it also had the thick book and 2 CD's that came with it...but none of this answered my question.

I knew this would be the last photo imaging software I would ever buy, because it seemed like it would have everything I would ever need. I am not a professional nor will I be. This is just a hobby with me...photography...and I just like being able to make my pics better.

I did try to get some one at "support" wrote my question to them...and the reply I got back was: yes, we have an answer to your question....and they wanted to charge me for an answer. I thot darn, here I paid $600 for some software, and now they want to charge me more for an answer...so, I left the site...

Is there a phone number if I go to that site? well, never mind answering that stupid question. LOL I will go check it out, and if I get an answer I will let you know.

Again thanks,
sherri
