Hi im using Imageready its basically the same, but i have this problem..
I can only save the optmizied image, which for some reason distorts one layer of the pic, i'd rather save the other view under the original tab but don't know how to do this?
Can anyone please help me?
Many Thanks in Advance. |

Hi there
You can save an uncompressed version as a TIFF of PNG-24 by going to the File>Save As command instead of save for web. This will save the original file without any lossy compression.
What type of image are you saving, and what format are you saving is as? Is the image pixels or does it contain vector shapes as well? The more info you give, the easier it is for people on the site to help.
Hope this helps _________________ Matt

OK sorry about that, well when i click Save As it only gives me the option to save the file as a PSD..
When i click the Save Optmizied i can save it as a gif or html
I am using Adobe Imageready by the way not Photoshop.
Basically the image is a type of poster, which i need to display on my website, everything saves fine as a gif, however a couple of faces on the poster lose quality.
I have found out that removing the outer glow on the text on part of the poster improves the quality again so i will leave the outer glow off for now.
However for future reference do you know why this might be? |

No probs, just hoping I can help ya!
If the image you're saving has photographic imagery then it's best you don't save a GIF. A GIF can only support 256 colours max, that's why you're losing quality. If you're in Imageready, go to the Windows menu and open the Optimize palette, now change the format to JPEG or something like that. Adjust the quality settings until you're happy.
Make sure in the document window you're viewing the image in the 2-up mode, the left one will be the original image and the other will be the one you're adjusting the jpeg settings for.
Once you're done, go to the file menu and save the optimised image.
