I have drawn a few rectangles but want to make them all exaclty the same size and in certain positions.
how do you view/change the height, width, x and y positions? In fireworks, the properties pane at the bottom shows the exact measurements and is easy to change. How is this done in photoshop 7.
Thanks |

Just copy the shape instead of redrawing it that will insure same size,
as for x and y positions,in CS3 theres a window called clone source and you can set x and y positions with that, if PS 7 dosnt have this just put the rulers on and drag some guide lines out and make sure the snap to guides is ticked.
there is also an info box, again dont know where it will be on PS 7 but it shows you x-y positions colour settings and dimensions, you might be able to edit them details from that box on 7, u cant on CS3. |

I don't really think of PS as being friendly to x and y thinking. Any easy and very exact way to get a box is as follows.
Open a new page
File>new>add size info (ei 5.567" x 7.89" YOUR EXACT SIZE)
With both windows open from your existing document and this new box one. There are 2 ways.
1. Just drag the layer from doc 2 to doc 1. (I cannot remember exactly but you may need to copy the layer)
or
2. with the box document open, select all (apple A), copy (apple C) and then paste (apple V) into document 1.
If you need more than one box like this just make another copy of the layer. There is a little "make copy" button at the bottom of the floating layer menu
