How can i change the solid black color to photoshop color?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Photoshop color'?
Can you give us some more info please and we'll do our best to help you.

Hiya

I have an image that is in solid black color..i want to change it to a different color from photoshop(photoshop color) just a part of the image

Also since I am using photoshop cs3, I couldnt find the Imageready option in there...Can you please tell me what can i use in place of it to introduce animation effects

Hello,
1) Select the black object (e.g. with the Magic Wand Tool) > Press [Shift+F5] and fill the selected with foreground (or some other) color

2) Open Animation palette (Window > Animation) and use the same procedure as in IR

photoshop cs3 took out the imageready. however, everything that was done in imageready can now be done directly through ps cs3. once you are ready to save, go to file/save for web and devices.
