Hi

I want to center some type on an image. When I go to the move tool, and highlight the text layer and the background layer then to the align menu, it sometimes works, but more often than not it does not.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi michael180,
Perhaps, because of an active selection?

BTW, you can align to selection instead:
- Make sure that only the text layer is selected
- Select all [Ctrl+A]
- Layer > Align Layers To Selection > Horizontal Centers
