I'm making a DIV layout for myspace. And the resolution of the background image I am using is messed up. On a higher screen resolution than 1024 x 768 it's tiled. For example, my boyfriend's screen resolution on his lappy is set at 1920 x 1200 and it's tiled and messed up there.

Wondering how I fix this? I'm not exactly new to photoshop but resolution has always messed with me.

Hi

If you're referring to resolution as PPI inside Photoshop's Image Size Dialogue box then you need to know that this calculation only applies when printing the image.

Usually the website will have options as to what to do if the image is smaller than the applied background of the users screen, some sites have a 'once' option which just places your image on the bg once, then there's the 'once centred' alignment, or the 'tile' preset which sounds like the one you have it set to.

If you just have a tile or once option then there's no easy answer without applying javascript. Your best bet might be to play with the offset or tile maker filters in PS and IR to achieve a seamless bg.

Hope this helps

I don't believe myspace has any options like that. I changed the CSS so the background wouldn't repeat but I'm not sure if that has fixed it, seemings how the entire layout is fine on my computer.

What I believe I can do is open it all up on higher screen resolution and play with it that way so I can see exactly everything that's wrong and what not.
