Im trying to switch from Fireworks to Phosotshop. In FW you can draw two shapes and with both selected punch, unify, etc the two shapes. Could some one help me along on how to do the same thing in PS?

One more question. Is it possible to align a selected item to the stage rather than to another object? Fireworks can align objects center of the stage or left, right, top, etc.

You can use the Marquee tool to delete the area you dont want, if thats what you are looking for.

When I need to do this, I always align to the first layer on my layers palatte, so I select the layer I need then CNT or CMD key the first layer. I'm interested to know if there is another way. Big Grin

"Enable snap, snap a guide to the center, then snap the layer to the guide".
