I'm trying to design a school magazine cover, the emblem is a fountain. I wanted to put a colage of pictures within the fountain shape . Any help would be appreciated! |

Step One: Get all of your images in the collage on separate layers.
Step Two: Put all of those layers into a layer set.
Step Three: Select the layer set.
Step Four: Hold Ctrl and click the fountain layer.
Step Five: Click the mask button at the bottom of the layers palette.
You're done!
Note/Tip: After step five you'll see the layer set icon with a mask icon next to it on the right. Between these two icons is a chain link icon. Clicking on the chain link icon will allow you to unlink the set from the mask. Example: If you removed the link and then clicked on the layer set icon, then selected the move tool, you would be able to move the set around and the mask will stay put. Play around with it to get the full effect. _________________ Best Regards,

Thanks Bryan...
Those seemed such simple steps but i must be missing something somewhere!
So I have the fountain outline as one image, and I made a colage in picassa and saved it as one image.
I started with the fountain, then added a new layer... do I drag the collage into the fountain? Sorry...i'm getting in a tangle!! |

You need to have the collage and the fountain on separate layers in the same document. _________________ Best Regards,
