Every time i try to open/create a document in cs2 it stalls for about 5 seconds, then gives me a bsod followed by a reboot. It reboots rather quickly so i cant see the error code on the bsod. Im using windows xp pro sp2. Anyone know how to fix this? i'd really like to be able to use photoshop again. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Turing my anti-virus off during the install process, nothing works.

Ok, this is my kinda topic... You need to do the following.

Right click 'my computer'
click on 'manage'
expand 'event viewer'
click on 'system'

Then find the date and time your system had an error. There should be a red X then double click it and tell me what you see. Give a screen shot of the error or error code.

Good Luck!

I did it at 8:21, but the closest error to that is 8:24, after the reboot. The only 2 events at 8:21 are both adobe related, one says "The Adobe LM Service service was successfully sent a start control." and not a second later it says "The Adobe LM service has entered the running state." Both of those were tagged Information, not error. I'll do it again in a few minutes to see if i can get it.

Edit:
Just did it again at 8:40 and got the same messages, no errors.

Edit Two:
It works fine if i let the program load, sit for about a minute, then open/create something. So i still cant double click a psd file and have it opened since it will crash my pc. This sucks.

Edit 3 (Whew!):
*fixed.
I switched from Norton '07 to Nod32 and Comodo, but i left norton installed and just took it out of the startup programs in case i wanted to keep it. I forgot about it and was rummaging through my add/remove programs today cleaning it out and got rid of norton. Now everything works fine. I can right-click>open with cs2 and it works great. I guess norton left traces in my pc that got nod32 all ticked off which made it crash.
Thanks for you help though. Manage>events will be a good thing to keep in mind if i run into problems again. :)
