Without getting into trying to mimic the second image..
You could simply use the Hue/Sat adjustment tool. Lower the saturation to -75. If you want to go a little further you can add a photo filter taking a sample from the back color stains increaseing it to 75 or so. to give it that dirty orange/brown look...if you want to go further grab the burn tool and set to hightlight at 10% and hit the highlights, then set mode to midtones and paint those in here and there.
Just ideas..
