I've got a action (.ATN) file and only on certain images it will give me this error. The files are in 8>bit RGB mode. Nothing too werid there.

Now i've got these files copied to my harddrive and they open just fine in bridge.

Im running CS2 w/ a freshly defragged hardrive and cleaned my temp folders followed by a reboot.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Update2: Turns out my hardrive was slowly crashing. I suggest everybody backup your important data.

I didn't think that message was a good sign.

I read your first update and was thinking "uh uh fella, don't think so" and then read the update2 post and was like "yep". I was hoping it was some generic corrupted data error. When I have a hard drive die, I always put in it my freezer and leave it there, hoping that someone will someday ask why it is in there so I can respond, "I'm freezing it until they find a cure!"

My wife throws them away.
