What is the difference between Adobe Elements CS2 and Photoshop ? I started with Photoshop 7, took the same beginners class 3 times, seeing the same students(they don't get it either). I thought elements might be easier for someone who just wants to work on family photos.

You are correct. Photoshop Elements is much more user friendly, and easier to learn. Photoshop CS2 has a great deal more features than Elements. If you are looking to simply brighten photos, remove red eye etc, then Elements is for you. If you are looking to do graphic design, and edit photos with more detail, then I would recommend CS2. Elements does not offer the wonderful range of tools that CS2 does. Photoshop CS2 is considered the standard for professional photographers, and graphic designers, and Elements is more targeted at home users.
