Hello everyone--I'm new to photoshop. Do any of you know how to achieve this image? I'm trying to do something similar to this but I can't figure out how. It looks like they used gradients for this? I know how to do horizontal and vertical gradients but if you look at this image, it looks like they combined both. It's darker along the left, top and right sides, all blended together while the middle area is lighter. Any advice for a photoshop/illustrator newbie?

I gave the Inner shadow layer style a try... look close to me.

Is there any way to do the inner shadow effect in Illustrator? I'm more comfortable using illustrator. Did a google search..all I can find is Photoshop related articles

Sorry I can't help you there..illustrator and I don't get along. But I'm sure it can do it in a heart beat.
Give PS a try... if you can follow the layer set up it's fairly easy.. make your square on a blank layer.
then add the Inner shadow Layer Style..to do that click the black circle with the "F"..first icon on the bottom.

thanks for your help--I think I got it. I had no idea PS was so different from illustrator. I'll probably buy a book on PS soon

I'm impressed..! I find illustrator very frustrating..but then again i don't use it very often so everytime I need it, I have to learn it all over again...ahhg!
