Photoshop masters: How do I achieve the effect seen here?
I've got a button shop on eBay and I'm looking for better ways to display my images. At first I made the buttons and took photos, but found that method was time consuming, wasted supplies on unsold buttons, and the pictures weren't always that great anyway.
I've switched to digital images, but worry they look cheap/low quality. I've been checking out the competition on eBay, and found the 3D button look seen in the image linked. So, how do I do that?
I have tried using the bevelling blending option (Inner Bevel with Rounded Steps Gloss) and it works fine on darker images but goes to heck when I try to apply it to a mostly white image on a white background. How do I get this to work reliably, so I can just add the style to each button design I make?
I have Photoshop CS v9.0 and would put my skills somewhere midrange. I'm very comfortable with the program, but higher functions still elude me.

You could make a sytle that places the refection in the exact places you want..trial and error (the attached image have a style applied)
or you could make a layer above your image with all the highlights draw on.. The light half moon (left side to side) can be done with the pentool the stroked path, simulate pressure...then mimic the shadows with a soft brush set.. simply place the layer ofver all you images.
If its close I could send you the psd file..which includes the style used.
then you can fine tune it.

Wow, thanks very much! I've been messing around with it but haven't come up with anything as nice as yours.
If you could email it to me at ----------, that would be amazing.
