I am trying to reproduce the "string" look, that this attached graphic has on the tag. I am not sure how to do that, can someone provide me with a tutorial, or steps on how to recreate this?

Looks like a white line with a inner shadow applied (or instead of the inner shadow its just painted in gray)
I used inner shadow layer style. (Layer/layer style/inner shadow)
Good luck,
Lasa

How do you get the "string" - the white part. I understand about the shadow. But I am not sure on how to create the part you are applying the shadow to. Any how would be appreciated. Thanks.

You make a white line with a hard brush... on a blank layer then apply a "inner shadow" style. it will make the flat string look like my sample.
The styles are located in LAYER/LAYER STYLES/INNER SHADOW or the Black icon with an "F" in the middle at the bottom of the layer palette. (very first icon on the bottom)
That should do it.

Awesome thanks for all the help on this.
One last thing, can you tell me how to create the straight drop shadow, that seems to give it the final tweak to making it look real.

I simply made a soft black brush line on a layer below the string layer then lowered the opacity until it looked like a shadow.
Very low tech..I know but it works.
