i have a picture of a tree with all of its tiny branches and twigs but i need it with the background transparent so when i put it into a new picture the new picture shows through the branches and what not. the background eraser doesn't delete the background in enough detail but will erase the tree itself. does anyone know how to use a layer like a stencil and paint just where the image is transparent or a better way to select and extract this tree?

Depends on the image..the extract tool or the background eraser..color range..need to see the little beast to really help.
