I am trying to type onto a photo. Every time I do, this shows up in the tool bar and I am not sure what it means except for it will not let me type on the photo. If I click on it, it goes away, until I try to type again. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It's asking you if you want to commit to the type layer or not.
When you type it appears...if you click the circle with the line it deletes (not accept) the new layer made, if you click the check or grab another tool it keeps the layer.
Watch the layer pallete when you use the type tool and you'll see it do its thing.
