I created a 5x7 publisher file with some text and a motif I designed in Photoshop and inserted into my publisher document. Now I am ready to create the final piece in Photoshop. Help! I have the graphic saved in various file formats, and want to import it into my 5x7 Photoshop document I've saved. I clicked on Transparent because I want the off white of the paper to show through. The graphic has a transparent background in psd format. I saved it as a pdf file and tried to import it, but that just opened another window. I just want to be able to place the image on my 5 x 7 page, then type in the type!

Also -
I will be sending it to my printer who has requested it in CMYK format. Do I design it in RGB and convert?
My printer will be printing it at 600 dpi. When I open a new file, it only gives me the pixels/inch. What do I set it to?

Thanks!!!!

Just a thought but the resulution doesnt need to be up at 600 dpi it just sucks ink, try printing at 300 there are not descrepencies to the naked eye. However, save the file as a .png file and then import it into publisher, microsoft cannot read the .pdf file format.

Thanks for responding, but I must have not made myself clear enough.
I have no trouble creating the whole project in Publisher. I've already done that so that my client could view and approve the layout. - and I'm much quicker using Publisher. :-)

However, I am giving a professional printer the finished file on a cd. He will be printing it on stock that is too heavy for my home Canon i860 inkjet printer. It will be printed at 600 dpi.

I have created the 5 x 7 file in photoshop. I have the text on there properly, and the border design on there. What I need to do is get the motif image I designed placed into this file. I can do it using Tiff format, but then I can't see it to fine tune the placement. I haven't tested it to see if that really works printed anyway.

Oh, and I'm using Photoshop 7.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Bev
