56K friendly slicing?

Hello All,

I'm making a site for a friend, and I'm building the template using PS then slicing in Image Ready. I have a good bit of slices in the template, because I sliced all of the links on the page.

Well, when loading, it takes quite a while, due to the sheer number of jpg's.

Is there any way to cut down on the number of slices, and keep the individual urls? (in order to help the page load faster)
