hi,i've been trying to create lightsaber effects for a while, and this was the best result i got. i wanted to do it brighter but i couldn't succeed. i didn't do this according to the tutorial written by data meister.. i used just the "fade gaussian blur" command at the end of the work. as i told , i couldn't adjust the brightness.

and one more thing: although i tried to execute data meister's tutorial i didn't get the same results with him. where may i have failed? |

to make the lightsabers appear brighter, you need to increase that saturation. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |

Flattening should have no effect on the appearance of an image. When you go Layers>Flatten, Photoshop takes all visible layers and combines them into one, while deleting any hidden layers. The image itself will look exactly the same.

I think I've figured out your problem, Star Wars Man. I think you need to either use much higher Guassian Blur values or downsize the image a lot. I finally noticed that you're viewing the image at 30.1%. That means the image is pretty big, so you'll want to use values for Guassian Blur that are roughly three times what I've posted. Or downsize the image, like I said.

Another thing, Star Wars Man. Now, I understand that you're having some trouble with this, and that you're frustrated--that's all perfectly reasonable. However, I'd like to ask that you be a little more polite toward me. No need to say "what do u is the orblem witht the falttening?!?!?!" All I want to do is help. If we're both respectful of each other, I'm sure the process will be much quicker--not to mention, more enjoyable for both of us. No hard feelings.

Lookin' good, Is maker. As Gallo_Pinto suggested, increasing the saturation will help. Also, I'd use a somewhat lower Hue value (a little closer to green). Little details like oversaturated blade edges and glow on the face will go a long ways. Here's my attempt. I've roughly followed my tutorial, but I've made adjustments and changes as necessary. As I've said, every picture is different. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |
