Hi all! I'm a digital photographer working as a DoD (Department of Defense) civillian at Ft. Drum, NY (HOAH! GO ARMY!).
Really quick, I was a generator mechanic for 5 years in the Army, then was assigned to to digital photography-no schooling, just got involutarily volunteered to do it. Started using Photoshop 4 on a Mac system, and couldn't figure out how to turn the stupid computer on, let alone use a camera. Long story short, I got out of the Army, and the 10 months that I was a photographer, I must've impressed some one becuase they hired me back as a civillian photogrphaer. I've been using Photoshop for roughly 4 1/2 years now, and have not had a lick of training on it, just learned by trial and error, and spent about 6 hours reading tutorials. I feel that I'm pretty good with photoshop, but only as far as editing photos, restoring old photos, etc. etc., but not so great with the graphic design and web design side of photoshop. I came across this forum and thought it was pretty neat, so I signed up hoping to learn a little bit and to maybe share my knowledge (what little knowledge it may be!) with others.
So, ask me questions about photography, and I'll ask you all questions about graphic and web design....sound like a plan? _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day.
Sounds great! Welcome indeed. Sounds like you'll bring a lot of positive energy and Photoshop experience to the forums. Plus you work for the army, which is cool. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX!
