I use very very large files on photohop. Since i print on a large format printer I need the print to be from 44inch to 5 ft. Therefore, leaving me with a HUGE file. I have a great computer, but even with that the files take up to 30 minutes to load, save, print, or scann. I just need some information as to what type of ram, memory, MB, anything, that would help me build the perfect and fast computer.

thank you,

boriana

grab yourself a heap of ram 1gb or so should handle it (that's what I have at the moment).

An Barton core AMD 2500 is a good value (and good speed) processor. Match it with a geForce 4 128mb video card and you're all set!

Not to be controversial (PC owner myslef) It sounds like you either need a PC based workstation or a MAC.

Definately get a ton of ram... make sure your motherboard will handle 1.5 or 2 GB at least. Fill it up with as much high speed RAM as you can. Try DDR or RDRam for better performance...

a hyperthreaded Pentium 4 and a great motherboard (not an advertisement), but i would recommend an ASUS or ABIT motherboard with intels 800 FSB and maximum amout of high speed ram.

I have a P4 2.26 ghz overclocked to 2.55 ghz with 1 gig ram and I open 100meg files fairly easily... how big were you talkin? as im writing this i made a 300 inch x 200 inch cmyk psd , its 1.6 gig and its been like 5 mins between resizing... and i just clicked save, 11 minutes to save.... but im playin winamp too as well as this internet explorer window.
