The green in the ellipse is great now, good job. The logo needs depth, however. I like the shape of it, but without a little depth it, again, doesn't look on par with your skills. I would try a simple drop shadow for the ring surrounding the lightbulb shaped object in the center
Not entirely sure on this one, but a vertical gradient on right or left side of the bar (so you can see the one color and the color fading, but not the new color, or maybe just a little bit.

yea, well unless theres some major push to keep this I just came up with a cool new design, I hope to have it done soon and people can compare the two...

Mmmm tentacles  .
Maybe change the colors of the logo, and add a bevel&emboss to it.
Also, change the font of the text, unless that font really exemplifies your personality...

Well, seeing as the main colors for the current page are purple and white, why don't you change the logo to that color too?
And as for font, everyone has a favorite font  . I bet If you look youll find yours .
