Hi, can anyone explain how to work with text in pictures, or point me to a tutorial that explains it? Google keeps giving me irrelevant stuff like how to make a fuzzy ball and those tutorial sites dont seem to have anything on basic picture editing with text.
For example lets say i have a picture. I want to add text to it so it fits right into the background rather than having an artificial white border around the text. How do i do that?
Also, how do i remove text without deleting parts of the background as well, and how do i enter text so that it matches the text that is used in the picture?
Lets say i have a picture with the word "TEST" in it, with a certain font, size, color, etc. I want to add additional text with the exact same font, size, etc. Is there a way to do that?
well, unfortunately, removing text is not always so easy. depending on the image and where the text is located will dictate the method used for editing.
for example, in the first image, editing would be very easy for obvious reasons.
but for the next image, there would be all kinds of problems.
I'm sure there are other, perhaps easier ways to do this, but due to my limited knowledge, I would have to use the magic wand or pen tool to create a selection of the text, then delete it. once that was done, i would then do a whole lot of cloning and healing. after that, create your text just as the links that doubrovski posted. you can use the transform controls to edit the size and location of your text. as for fonts, you will have to find one that closely matches that of the original text that you are trying to mimic. however, some are just near impossible and if it were me, i would just abandon that project and just make my own...
