Hi guys nice to be part of the forums.
A question:
I was recently resizing and adding a watermark to some images for upload to the web. The images are of fabric and are many different colours. Somehow I created my text which picked up a shade of the background colour. so a greeen image has nice green text and yellow has yelllow text. I have not been able to repeat the procedure as I stumbled upon it by mistake. I was recording my actions and photoshop supplied me with all of my images with the same text but matching the background colour. This is my first post so not sure how to attach images. I must stress I never touched the colour picker. my text turned to marching ants and the image changed colour when I deselected I had a really nice text effect. My boss loved it but I can't sem to replicate my earlier actions.

Hey it was probably a behavior attributed to the layer the watermark was on.
Such as a layer blending mode of overlay or soft light.
Possibly the opacity of the layer had been lowered.

Tanks for the reply. Im not using any extra layers or blendding modes and this is only happening with one set of gif files I prepared i am attaching one for members to look at. Im Photoshop 12 Cs5. If any members want to look at the file.

No probs,
When you save a gif file they can be saved with limited colours to optimize/make the file size smaller.
So if your image only contains red fabric then all other colours can be discarded.
This means when you open the file up in photoshop and go to type black text, it will come out red because the document has no black colour saved to its profile.
I am quite sure this would be the reason for the coloured text.
You can check by going to Image > Mode > Color Table.

Auieos....I always feel like I'm not worthy to be in your presence. You have the answer before I can think about it and try to recreate it myself. Kudos, my friend.
