- Select the bird you want to use (use the tool for your choice, I'd most likely go with the pen tool but any lasso tool or the quick selection tool (depending on the image) work as good as well)
- Hit Ctrl+J to duplicate the bird
- Hit the eyeball next to the background layer
- You should now see a grey/white tiled background with just your bird.
- Make 2 or 3 copies by selecting the bird layer and pressing Ctrl+J 2 or 3 times
- Press V to activate the move tool and move the bird copies into position by selecting each bird layer and dragging it into place.
- With one of the copies selected hit Ctrl+T to activate Free Transform and scale, rotate and skew the copies a bit to vary the copy a bit up. Hit Enter to apply. Do this for the other copies as well.
- Hit C to activate the crop tool and make sure you only have the birds on your canvas. Hit Enter to apply.
- Now use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E
- Ctrl+A
- Ctrl+C
- and Ctrl+V in the project you want to use the birds.
