Ok Im hoping this is the rite place! I have a diagram schematic thing of a go kart on a white background. I want to pick just the black lines of the schematic and then turn them white to place them on a black background. Im totally confused!! I am using CS5. Any ideas?

Try 'Image > Adjustments > Invert'

You can also select areas of particular colour by using 'Select > Color Range'

You can also do by using tool from the tool bar.
like brush tool and colors from the color panel.
