Hello everyone on PhotoshopForums.com
My name is Eriq and I am glad to be joining this community. A little about myself. I am 16, a student and a freelance graphic designer and motion graphics artist living in Toronto, Canada. I have been using the Adobe Suite for 4 years and is currently preparing for the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exams in Photoshop and After Effects. I plan to study Graphic Design in university, and perhaps go into teaching and creating my own business.
I hope to see more of everyone on the forums and will try my best to help everyone if experiencing any problems. Feel free to ask me anything and I'll do my best to assist you |

Hey Eriq,
Welcome to the Forums!
Hope the ACE exam goes well, make sure you let us know how you get on? Bet After Effects is a tough one too, great programme though! _________________ Matt

Thank you Patrick and Matt
The ACE for AffterEffects is pretty hard, especially when there seems to be a lack of training material. I think I might put this off a little further down so I can study more for it. Photoshop is coming down well, but some of the test questions are outrageous. Their protocol is to choose "the answer most right." which then gives them the cue to throw in 3 right answers and make you decipher the rightest one. |

Welcome Eriq,
Glad to see you here.
For training material on AfterEffects, you could check
www.lynda.com ... not sure how much training that will offer you.

Lynda.com is absolutely amazing. I've gone through most of the CS3 and CS4 stuff a while back on the suite, and the information is invaluable. Deke McCelland and Chad Perkins are arguable the best teachers and I still follow their podcasts every week.
But I guess when there is a good side, theres always a bad. I find sometimes that the curriculum can be a little rudimentary, especially when they list it as "advanced techniques" or "beyond the basics". Their semester for AfterEffects is one of them. Lynda.com must have had quite a reaction from its users to have explicitly stated in the CS4 series that people were complaining that their CS3 series were too easy. |

Yeah I completely agree, Deke and Chad are the best in the business....by a long way. They have some very interesting, fun, but educational blogs too - if those guys can't get you through I'm not sure who can
Hope all goes well _________________ Matt
