Hello,

I needed about 200 png files (used in google maps als poi's).
I'm using self made balloons, in different colors, each with a different text on it.
You can see them in users.telenet.be/pascal.sn
Each balloon i "saved as" a new png file.
10 balloons are red, 10 green, 10 yellow,... etc...
This was a lot of work, and I wonder if there is a faster way.
Also, after using them a few days, I realised some things could be better, but I don't like to start all over again.
Yesterday I tried something with smart object:
I made a smart object of the balloon of one color without text: the balloon is made using 4 layers, the other 2 layers are text layers.

Now I don't really see how I can use that smart object to speed up my work, or to make easy changes to all those png files, when I want to change them afterwards.
So in fact, there are 2 questions:
1/ How can I make 200 balloons with a different text in a faster way. (one text layer has a number 1 to 9, the other 3 different digits , that stand for a person).
2/ What method should I use, to be able te make a quick change afterwards. (e.g. make all the balloons in all png's more transparent, or, change the text in another color)

I don't know if there is a simple answer to all this, but I would learn a lot if someone could help me out here.

Pascal.

Look in the help files for variables and data sets.

Thank you, I will do that.

In the meanwhile, I changed my png files, using an action, and then making a droplet of it.
That worked out real well (and fast!). Easy to select a range of png's with one color to change.
Also easy to finetune afterwards: adapting one more more parameters in that action.
Now I see the advantage of a droplet (easier to select some files to change), compared to batch processing (one whole directory).
