Hi All,
I'll try to explain this as best I can so bear with me, thanks.
If I am making a banner that consists of more than one photo I know I can just size each photo and set them together side by side to fit in the banner.

However what I would like to do is to not have them just a plain rectangle or square but have each one triangular shaped so that they will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. One triangular shaped photo would have its base on the bottom and the next one would be reversed and have its base on the top and so on.

Is there a way to do this ?
I'm using PS CS3 on a Mac.

Yes u can, easiest way would be using grids

edit > preferences > guides, grids & slices

Use subdivisions with gridline every 100%
Subdivision # will be 2 per triangle

View > Snap to > Grid (Make sure 'View > Snap' is checked)

This will allow you to resize and position, as well as triangulate with the polygonal lasso tool.

Thanks Auieos for directing me to making a grid but it's not exactly what I want to do. Sorry for not explaining better.

I can get the grid set up but its still only in squares, what I am trying to do is to lay out say 3 or photos of the same size but then change their shape from a square or rectangle into a triangle or some other shape but not have the photo distort just lose some of it in the process.

it would be like taking scissors and just cutting sections from each side of a photo to form a triangle
Hope this sounds better.

I dread to suggest layer masks as it seems you are beyond that point. Don't shout! ;)

*edit* maybe you could post a crude mockup for our delectation */edit*

Go ahead suggest it I've got my hand over my mouth.lol

Actually I've been playing around more with the grid and by using the polygonal lasso tool to clip the corners off I've got a workable albeit laborious solution.
